PERSONAL STATEMENT
PERSONAL STATEMENT
My name is Victoria Evtimov and I am a class of 2024 student at Huntley High School. I compete in Track and Field as a sprinter, specifically the 100, 200, and 400, along with relays. During the 2022-2023 season, my team and I were able to achieve numerous goals, such as winning 1st place at IHSA 3A State. This season, I was a state qualifier for the 200M and I was a part of the 4x100, which placed 2nd at the State meet, and the 3rd in the 4x200. My personal records in my events are 12.62 in the 100M, 25.51 in the 200M, and 59.24 in the 400M. For academics, my weighted GPA is a 4.0 and my SAT is a 1200. My goals for this upcoming season, I want to run under 25 seconds in the 200M and run under 58 seconds in the 400M.
As an athlete and individual, I can bring so much to the team. I am a very dedicated runner, and my willingness to learn combined with my constant drive to succeed makes me an extremely coachable athlete. I like to set an example for my teammates by always working hard and trying my best, and encourage them through thick and thin. For the University as a whole, I will bring a strong work ethic and commitment to my classes and other campus activities while simultaneously succeeding at running. Currently, I am inducted into the National Honors Society. I am a part of Silver Cord which is a volunteering club, and I have accumulated 100+ hours of volunteering. I am in the Student Council, which has given me the opportunity to foster skills like leadership, communication, teamwork, organization and public speaking. Through my induction at the Medical Academy, my school's career pathway program for health-related studies, I was accepted into a Youth Residency program. The program is a partnership with Advocate Sherman Hospital where I receive job shadowing and mentoring in all departments of Sherman’s health services, including intensive rotations of at least 2.5 hours a week at the state-of-the-art Advocate Sherman Hospital.
All in all, I am committed to the sport of Track and Field as well as my academics. I will continue working to improve in the classroom and on the track.
